Breeching the Gap
White breeches!!! The struggle of several riders in obtaining white breeches for a competition led to the idea of JLN Equestrian. A casual discussion among our co-founder Yash Jalan and a group of friends about the difficulty in finding quality equestrian gear in India prompted the founding of our brand, He asked his friends whether they would buy equipment if he designed and procured it. A resounding yes from them led to making of the first ever batch of JLN Breeches featuring the JLN Gripping System.
What started as a fun passion project has now become a standalone self sustaining business. In these last 4 years, we have seen ourselves grow and evolve – constantly trying to one up ourselves in order to provide the best to our customers.
While we started with only a group of fellow equestrians from Pune and Mumbai as customers, our client base now spans beginner and experienced riders from across India.
From no dedicated space for our inventory, we have now graduated to an exclusive space that serves as our shopfront and warehouse.
We started really small with no more than informal and shared stalls at equestrian games in Pune and Mumbai. However, our recognition grew with our audience and now we participate individually in prominent shows and competitions across India. From local in-house shows at riding schools to the FEI World Jumping Challenge, we engage with the equestrian community at all levels.
After a few months of sampling, trials and errors, JLN Equestrian was launched on March 26, 2019 with not only breeches but a range of other products that were not available easily to the Indian equestrian market.

Since the start, we have tried to ensure highest standards of quality. We have put in place checks and balances for quality control. Products are sampled multiple times before going into final production so that only the best reaches our customers.

A business graduate by qualification and a horse person at heart, Yash has been associated with horses from the age of 3. While he did compete at local and national level for several years he had to step up to contribute to his family business of construction. He has been actively associated with the family business for over 10 years now. However, his love and passion for horses and the need to remain associated to horses led to the birth of JLN Equestrian.
A journalist by qualification and an avid outdoor person, Rujuta got involved with horses after marriage to Yash. Her love for the outdoors made it easier to connect with the horse world. Together with Yash, she worked on laying the foundation of JLN Equestrian while also working in a publication. After over 6 years in the media, she quit her job in 2021 to join JLN Equestrian full time.
